Datacenter

All computer systems are located in Germany’s most modern computing centres. Our computing centres are at the following locations:
- TelecityGroup, 60528 Frankfurt am Main
- TelecityGroup, 60327 Frankfurt am Main
- Versatel-Gruppe, 60486 Frankfurt am Main
Infrastructure
All computing centres use computerised building management systems for monitoring and control of fire fighting systems or leakage detection.
To guarantee continuous operation, the computing centres have access to redundant and highly available power supplies, which can be scaled at growing demand. Every computing centre has uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS) and additional diesel generators. Also in the most unlikely case of failing main supplies, our clients can be supplied with UPS-power for longer periods.
All computing centres take air-conditioning very serious, therefore, they use fully redundant cold-water cooling systems. In addition, cold-course/warm-course separation is used or, alternatively, innovative cold-air barrier solutions for best cooling effects. At the design and construction of our computing centres, energy efficiency is one of the focus points. Moreover, the computing centres use the advantages of environmental cooling, which allows significant economisation as soon as the environment temperature falls below a certain value.
Every computing centre is equipped with smoke detection systems (VESDA =Very Early Smoke Detection Alert) or alternatively, with very advanced fire alarm systems. Those highly sensitive, two-step smoke detectors are linked to the building management system. They are continuously monitored by the network operations centre. In the most unlikely case of fire, environmentally acceptable fire fighting systems, based on gas or water vapours, will extinguish any fire, - normally before it can spread! The systems are designed in such way that operating failures are minimised and malfunctions are localised.
Safety
Stringent access controls guarantee that the computing centres are the safest computing centres industry-wide. The safety of your company’s critical data and systems has the highest priority.
For that reason, all computing centres are permanently watched by security guards. The multi level, physical safety measures are supplemented by perimeter monitoring, biometric systems, and video surveillance.
The access to all computing centres is stringently controlled. The application of strict processes guarantees control and monitoring of visitors; that applies not only for the access but also within the building. The computing centres also have comprehensive video surveillance systems, security alarms, biometric checkpoints, and physically guarded barriers.
Access to buildings, data floors, and dedicated client areas can only be achieved via individually programmed access cards with biometric and visual identification. That way, only one single person can have secured access. Standardised procedures ensure that you and your staff have round the clock access to your equipment.
To underline our engagement of Best Practises in section security, the ISO27001:2005 Standard for security management was successfully realised. This standard guarantees the selection of suitable and appropriate security controls for protecting all data in the computing centres.
Industry Standards and Certifications
The computing centres are certified according to the following international standards:
All computing centres are certified according to the ISO 2001:2005 standard for information secure management systems. The standard defines the requirements of establishment, implementation, operation, monitoring, checking, maintenance, and improvement of a documented management system for secure information in conjunction with the overall organisation business risks. The result guarantees best practises for security processes that protect information resources.
All computing centres are certified according to the quality management standard ISO 9001:2008. This standard applies to the basis of product and service processes and their controls. It defines systematic checking procedures for all activities to ensure that the clients’ requirements and expectations will be fulfilled. That applies also to repeat clients. The standard confirms the existence of an effective quality management system that withstands the stringent requirements of external and independent audits.
The environment management is specified according to ISO 14001. The international certification designates companies with exceptional environment management. The certification underlines the engagement of TelecityGroup to constantly improve existing computing centres energy efficiency and to develop new innovative computing centres with highest possible energy efficiency.
The health and industrial safety management system of TelecityGroup is certified according to OHSAS 18001. This certification confirms companies with the highest standards of health and industrial safety protection and underlines their claim to leadership of working place risk minimisation and accident prevention.
